This is another bittersweet interview.  I had never met Shannon personally, but it had been a goal of mine.  I loved her work.  She was very much a barefoot bondage girl and that is one of my favorite themes in bondage modeling. I first saw her work on Sandra Silvers's site in March 2010 and, shortly after that, I sent Shannon a fan letter -- the first one she ever received.  And after that, we emailed regularly before her real life obligations led to less frequent emails.  Sadly, Shannon passed away in a tragic accident in September 2013 at the age of 25. I'm sad for her passing but glad that I got to “know” her a little.  She did this interview for me in July 2010.  (Note that her site was taken down shortly after her passing).

1.  How did you first figure out that you enjoyed being tied up?

I guess when I realized that I would think about it and do it to myself.  That is when I realized that I enjoyed being tied up.  I always enjoyed tie up games when I was younger, but Ii didn’t realize how much I liked them until I would dream about them at night and wrap myself up in my bed sheets   

 
2.  What are your favorites -- method of restraint?  gag?  bondage position?  role to play?  And do we get to see your favorites on www.ShannonSterling.com?

I really like rope.  I like its versatility.  I like that the same length of rope can get me in so many different positions.  I'm partial to a cleave gag because I like the way it looks, but a tape gag feels so good!  Once I try every position I’ll tell you which is my favorite    I definitely do like the sub role, but sometimes I switch with my friend, Sandra.  What I have on my site is an extension of me.  I get to dream up anything I want and make it happen.

3.  On your www.ShannonSterling.com website, you invite your members to follow you on your journey of self-discovery.  What has bondage led you to discover about yourself so far?  And what else do you think you might discover in time about yourself?

I came to realize that the bondage itself has really been an affirmation of my sanity. I used to think I was weird for wanting it.  It seemed like most things I was seeing online anymore were kind of fake and really going in a direction that I didn’t want to go.  I used to feel weird; that most people would think I was crazy for liking what I like and anyone kinky would not think I’m kinky enough for them. Within my limits, I’m always finding new things I like, but I discover them on my terms.  For example, I had never been mummified before, but I saw a photo of my friend mummified and really wanted to try it.  It was such a cool experience.  I have also discovered a really really great friend that I love, who knows me better than anyone. I like that intimacy I have with her.  That intimacy is there because of the bondage.

4.  How do you come up with the ideas for the photosets and/or video clips on www.ShannonSterling.com and what can we expect to see there in the near future?

Usually by daydreaming or maybe I’ll see something that my friend has done and ask her if I can try it.  What I like about the way my site is put together is that it is mine. On it are things I want to do and enjoyed doing.  I’m not doing it because I have the site; the site exists because I enjoy doing it and have a desire to share my experiences.  You can expect to see lots of bondage and lots of my feet in the future  

 
5.  What else do you want your fans to know about you?

I have always gotten a lot of compliments about my feet, I first realized that I you liked barefoot bondage not that long the ago, believe it or not.  There had always been the love of bondage and my foot infatuation had been there, but I didn’t put the two together until a girlfriend of mine tied me up and gave me a foot massage.  It was like a thunderbolt to my soul   I seem to be getting a lot more compliments about my feet since my site went live, but before that, I would always notice guys staring at them.  If I was in a restaurant and my shoe was dangling from my toes, I would get interesting glances and stares.  I was on the swim team in high school and one of the boys was always commenting on them, even offering foot-rubs.  That’s why 90 percent of the content on www.ShannonSterling.com is barefoot bondage related.  I would say that 5 percent is bondage related, but with something relating to my feet, and the other 5 percent is foot-related, but without bondage.  Every update has video to go along with the photos and there probably is even more video than photos on the site because I do a big video clip for every update and take photos during the filming of the video.  My site is updated every week with new photos and video, without fail, and all of my past updates are kept on the site for members.

There is also non-bondage barefoot content on the website because, well, I try not to let good foot action go to waste. Recently, during a bondage set where I was tied to a pole in a creepy basement, my feet got filthy.  Afterwards, I did a video of me washing and rubbing lotion into my feet!  It was a lot of fun!  I've been getting requests to see me sucking either my toes or my girlfriend’s toes, and I can assure you that those are things I'm eager to get on film!
