1. When did you create your very first damsel/heroine in peril drawing and what was it?
Oh my, soo long ago, hard to remember. One thing I'm sure the pic was about Batgirl. Was dreaming to see her tied and looking to the saw getting close to her, unable to escape because Catwoman was playing... with her body!
2. When did you first realize you liked damsels and heroines in bondage peril?
Was about five or six years old. I saw a rerun of the show “The Avengers.” Mrs. Peel tightly tied to an operation table. My heart started to beat like never before!
3. What, if any, comics, TV shows or cartoons most influenced you to go into the bondage art genre?
The Avengers, Batman (Batgirl), Wonder Woman and Penelope Pitstop. Spent my younger years wanting to see them in perils!
4. What is it about Batgirl that made you choose her for your DA home page image and led you to choose the “Yvonne Craig” name as your artist alias?
When I think about that now, I realize everything came in place like it was my destiny. First, my real name is Yvonne. I was born in a small town. It was a very tough and hostile place for living. My mother got abuse and didn't want the same happening to me. She sent me to some Martial Arts schools (karate, jujitsu, judo) I'm a black belt and that's probably why I'm so flexible. I'm a petite girl 5'2''. My face is naturally an Yvonne Craig look alike. So I look like Batgirl, have fighting skills like Batgirl, created a purple bat-suit to play cops and robbers with friends. I always lose against them
5. Have you created any original character damsels or heroines?
No, Batgirl is my alter ego. And I don't want to see Yvonne Craig's Batgirl forgotten.
6. Describe the process of how you choose which character you will feature in a drawing and then create the peril for her? What tools/programs do you use? How long does it take to complete the drawing once you actually begin?
I've made four characters that I'm using most of the time: Batgirl, Wonder Woman, Supergirl and Emma Peel. I maybe have ten more characters that I'm using randomly.
Let's say I choose Batgirl (what a coincidence), I play ''games'' with friends every week. We spend hours thinking about scenarios. When we are all reunited, we discuss which scenario we will play. Everybody has his own costume, most relate to Batman (Joker, Catwoman, Harley...) Most of my pics are based on my own experiences, credits to all my friends.
I'm using Daz Studio, old version, simply because it's fast, free and very stable. For a single picture, it can take between two and four hours to create it!
7. How has your art evolved since you began drawing heroines in peril?
Not on DA because I'm using a cheap 3D program. My skills are in 3DSmax Studio. Not using it for creating scene on DA because it takes too much time to create a perfect picture. We are talking about many days for a single picture.
8. Do you accept requests or commissions? If so, how can someone make a request or offer you a commission?
I don't accept requests or commissions. Been doing it as a kid to make some money, sometime we had nothing to eat. Doing this is like working for someone else. Now I have a fulltime job and when I do pics, it's for fun, and like everybody else, working is not fun!
9. Have you ever received complaints that your drawings are offensive? And if so, what drawing(s) drew the most complaints and how (if at all) did you respond to the complaints?
I will answer the second question first. On my first trip on DA, I did a pic with the heroine’s breast clearly visible and a character was caressing it. I got suspended! As for complaints, yes I do get them every week. Since my pics are tagged mature content and I don't do rape, force sex, cruelty, beating, I don't understand why those people always come back to complain. For me, DA is like watching TV. You don't like the show, switch the channel!
One advice for everybody: “Don't feed the trolls.”
10. Why do you think your work here is so popular both here on DA and at The Wizard’s Lair? What is it about bondage and heroines that get people – male and female – so excited about your work?
The bondage community is bigger than we think. It's less taboo than it was many years ago. Bondage is like what attracts you. Some love blondes, big breasts, boots, leather, pantyhose and so on. In bondage, it's the same. Many things influence what fans do prefer. For me, it's the damsel in distress being unable to escape the bondage and the fear to be in a death trap. Two great emotions when mixed together. It's like a bomb!
11. What heroines or damsels have you yet to draw but who you plan to feature in the future? Why haven’t you featured them yet?
I have no other heroines in mind for now. Most of the time I look at one of my heroines and try to change her suit (to get it tighter), hair, face morph, to make her more beautiful.
12. What artists' work do you admire and who has influenced your drawing work?
My father died when I was a little girl. He bought a computer in the early 90's. Nobody knew what was a computer was by that time, and he was able to create amazing drawings with almost nothing. I remember standing next to him watching all he could do with only his imagination. I really miss that time.
13. What one piece of your work are you most proud of and why?
It's not one picture, but to be able to create a face that would look like the actress in that role. Mrs. Peel (Diana Rigg) is still the best I've done so far. Batgirl’s face in based on me. I have to do one picture of her without her mask. You'll see how much me and Yvonne Craig look the same.
14. Of all the drawings you have done, which was the most challenging to complete?
It is hard to explain to those that don't know about 3D. When you put some clothes on a character, it fits to it like glue. Without some great skills, it's almost impossible to do what you want. For example, I did a pic where Batgirl was putting her pantyhose on, one leg to her knee was inside the pantyhose and the other was starting to slide in it. Creating this in 3D is a nightmare!
15. Which six heroines/damsels are your favorites to draw?
Batgirl, Emma Peel, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Sue Storm, Penelope Pitstop.
16. You have been suspended and/or banned from DA in the past. What prompted DA to take that action? What made you decide to return to DA after being away for so long? Have you made any changes to your art or style to prevent DA from taking such action against you again?
One thing I learned about DA is what eroticism is for them. A nude breast is ok. Someone touching it is not tolerated?? Before I got suspended by DA, I was receiving dozens of humiliating notes and mails everyday, reported them to DA, and they made no actions about it. Was working hours every day to please fans and meet new fantastic friends. Instead my life became miserable. I decided to stop everything and leave DA.
I came back because I missed talking with great friends like we are doing right now!!
Same advice as before: Don't show your email and don't feed the trolls.
17. If you could make one change to DeviantArt, what would it be?
I think when someone reports a member for an unacceptable pic or text, they should take the time to verify from who it came from and talk with the artist instead of simply giving a suspension. People come to DA to see what artists are doing. They are making big money with us. They could give us more respect.
18. Aside from DA and The Wizard’s Lair, has your work appeared anywhere else on the Internet?
Been doing thousands of pics for boards and sites not on the web anymore. Since I don't save my past materials, everything is lost.
19. What do you do when you aren’t creating heroine in peril bondage art?
Exercises, love to run: did a few marathons, drive my motorbike: purple Yamaha Hayabusa, play lots of peril scenarios with friends.
20. What else do you want your fans to know about you in addition to what we covered in this interview?
I am a dreamer. I dream that one day money will stop to lead the world we live in. The day people will help their neighbors instead of trying do be more rich than them. The day everybody will work together, whatever their colors, nationalities, languages or gods. The day people will stop making other die or slaves because they want to make money as fast as possible. The day peoples will spend money on research against cancer instead of weapons. I know. I'm a stupid girl. But I have a dream!
Thanks for the interview, Rob. It's been a pleasure to talk with someone so respectful and polite.

and of course, keep up the good work.
And I'm no stranger to Penelope Pitstop either.
Thank you dear
I believe we've met before , but as DA is so vast of talented artist's like yourself.. I fear it's grandeur also becomes it's curse in loosing sight of others.
YG likes the same heroines as i. Emma Peel is my Favorit since i was 8 years old. A long time ago. The Batman series with Batgirl Yvonne Graig i have had seen later. But a Fan of Batgirl i was earlier because of the comics. "Batman Family, Detective Comics, Batman... are my favorite Comics, when Batgirl was inside. Also Comics with Spidergirl, Ms. Marvel, Black Widow, Huntress, Lady Rawhide.
Heroines in peril situation like YC is drawing, are my favorites. But who is Penelope Pitstop? I don´t know her.
YG was in Berlin and had have trouble with the police and was arrested in her Batgirldress. When i know this, immidiatly i were there, as John Steed, for help you out of the situation. My Geman Language is better than my english. Sorry. But what has you done? Bound on the track-situation?
Nice, that YG can be a part of a Group, who has these interests and are getting good Ideas for the next Peril-/trap-Situation. I have not. And i can´t paint my fantasies like YG. I can´t it.
YG go one with your work. I love it and be care of you. We´ll need you!
Sorry for my english.
Glad you like my work, I love to draw and to be able to please fans by doing it is... priceless!
Thank you
Penelope Pitstop is a cartoon character from America who had her own series called The Perils of Penelope Pitstop (1969-70). You can read about her here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Peri… and see examples of Yvonne's Penelope Perils at Penelope Pitstop and Penelope Pitstop
Thanks again for the really great comment!!!
Great interview! Thank you Rob and Yvonne!
Thank you so much
Love you too darling, thanks
This interview is particularly attractive, because it gives us real insight to Yvonne's personnality. I didn't know anything about her until a few days ago, and the quality of her comments made me look for her page.
In your interview she really comes out as a good, balanced, generous human being.
I loved how she described her background, and the way she rose over difficulties.
What
Respect to Yvonne!
When you encounter respectful people, life become so much better. Thanks
Thanks
My compliments!
