In your very first Journal on DeviantArt, you wrote, “Have been a long time fan of photography and have been known to been at the other of the lens from time to time with some rope and fetish.” What years were you active as a bondage model?
Wow, someone who actually reads journals at DA makes you very special Rob! Winks. What years was I active as a bondage model? I suppose you would have to determine what defines model and what determines active. If you define a model as having an image shot with a camera, I would put my age number in the early 20's. If one defines active as numerous times a year being at a shoot, I would say I slowed done for commercial work in my mid 30's. If you determine a model to be someone who allowed themselves to be displayed without a camera present, I would say I was in my teenage stage. If one determines active as being still willing to shoot for friends for fun with or without a camera when inspired, one could say I never really stopped! For the right person, say Uncle M for instance, I am always at beck and call as well as for close friends within the fetish community.

When you were younger, did you have any idea that you were into bondage and fetish? How did those interests develop?
Hmmmm...this is an interesting question. I can't really pinpoint the exact moment as my memory can barely recall what was for dinner last night or directions which I am awful at I suppose my feelings grew as I got more involved into the scene, as I never consider fetish true work but experiences.

How did you end up becoming a bondage model?
I never really considered myself a true bondage model. I have always said I am just someone that has been blessed with having great people who seem to like taking my image. I have always had lots of pictures taken of me, as I have always loved being in front of a lens. I would consider myself a bit on the quiet side when younger and perhaps being in front of a camera made me less conservative. Once a camera or video pops out, I have always become more perky and 'on' it seems. Perhaps that is from being the neglected middle child

At the start of my bondage commercial days, I saw an ad in the holy grail of bondage in a Harmony Concept magazine looking for bondage models. I had some friends pull out a few miles of ropes and dig out some cameras as I shot some stills and video with a variety of outfits and locations. The picture quality was awful with those old 8MM camcorders but still I put together a bundle and sent if off to California. Within a couple of days, I was contacted to see if I would like to head to L.A. for a weekend to check things out. A sense of fun and adventure took over and I never looked back.

What was your first on-camera bondage experience like? What thoughts ran through your head at that first shoot?
I did some early unreleased shots for friends with a camera involved. It was mostly play with the guys liking to see their partners show off their rigging skills on me. I think I knew then that girl on girl fetish was a HUGE thing!
My first released on camera shoot was with Eve Ellis in a Burbank hotel room under the watchful guidance of Chelsea Pfeiffer. Eve was hand picked to work with me as it was thought she was so much fun that she would interact very well with a Canadian, eh. That experience was so enjoyable and the lovely redhead WAS the perfect 'break in' girl for me. We had an instant connection that made the first shoot so relaxing and comfortable that I recall fondly. It really helped that she should could tie and wrestle, which makes any video so much better to work with. We laughed a lot and had lots or 'retakes'. At last, we figured out if she looked at my eyebrows and I looked at her chin we could make it through a scene; if we made eye contact, we had laughing fits as we acted out our lines. Why redheads are such trouble The only thing that went through my mind was these are such wonderful people and how blessed I was that they wished me to become part of their world.
What are some of the sites and who are some of the people you worked with? Do you still keep in touch with anyone from your bondage modeling days?
I know that time has passed when most of the sites I started with are long since gone.
I have thousands of fetish images with many from early sites, from bondage to wrestling to leg/pantyhose sites. Part of the deal I always wrote in was that I would get a copy of all images and materials which I am so pleased that I did, even if it clogs my closet beside my massive shoe collection! Without permission, I have never released images from those sites as I have always been a firm believer in allowing those who produce the work to add their work as they see fit. I am a bit touchy when people 'borrow' other people's work as they do not realize the amount of time and money those producers put into their product. I do add some private shoots with friends who are fine with it and a couple other sites like Harmony Concepts and Pin Up bondage who give the big thumbs up as long as I state where it is from.

I would say that Eve Elllis was the one who I bonded with, no pun intended the most. Stacey Burke was great as she was such a professional that I learned a lot from from her preparation and small tricks of the trade. Jewell Marceau was marvelous and I would consider hers the look that best matched up with mine and had the requests for. The best shoot I have done I so feel from a visual aspect. It helped land me the cover of all bondage magazine covers in Bondage Life, which is a massive feather to obtain. I do keep in touch with some of my past as the relationships I built there lasted outside the area of 'work' and I am so glad I have.

What is your fondest memory of the time you were active in the bondage/fetish industry?
Fondest memory? That is a tough one as so many people came into my life which I am so grateful for. I so love to travel so my fetish days took me to shots in Florida, New York, up and down the west coast and other parts of Canada. I love seeing new places and new adventures so I have been so blessed to be able to do that thanks to 'fetish'.
One of my favorite memories that comes to mind is meeting Robert Harmon and his wife. I have so much respect for him and what he did and accomplished. When they first flew me to California, Chelsea said that Robert so much wished to meet me, which in itself was rare for him. Off we went for lunch and spent the whole afternoon just eating, drinking and talking in the warm sunshine. He offered to shoot us at his own home, which was even rarer, and he even brought out his own camera for some snapshots. Later, I heard that did not happen often and he had to be inspired by the person and the shot to take a few pics. We were in the middle of shooting when he pulled me aside and showed me his workout room and studio and had me testing his exercise equipment. I was having a great time as we were lost in our own world. Chelsea finally tracked us down, scolding him for 'stealing' her model as everyone was waiting and looking for me. I just dropped my head back and laughed and said I could not be in trouble hanging out with the boss. She smiled and said the worst thing is now I have to redo some makeup and hair as I was getting sweaty. When we were finished, Mr. Harmon pulled us aside and we did some fun light group pictures that I still treasure. As we were leaving, Chelsea, leaning into my ear, said that RH said to her that he adored me and wished me to come back as much as possible, which truly touched my heart.

Why did you leave the industry?
I left the industry because, as with all things, time moves along. Even today, I am still happy with how I look even though I have to work like mad just to maintain now, which is so unfair! It was time to allow the next generation to step up and bat their eyelashes for a while. I was offered a chance to move to California to model but also work behind the scenes for a timed contract. I thought long and hard about it, going back and forth. In the end, I felt that the overall industry was really changing from something that I was so attracted to to something that was a different creature. I wished to stay true to myself as it just felt right. I was ever so close to returning and Harmony would have been my only choice if I went back as I loved the people and Chelsea more than I can say.
I would also say shooting with dear Uncle M was also a fond memory as what a wonderful man as he is, so close to home to boot! He is a class act that I adore so much and shooting with cool model Miss Morta as well.

What have you been doing since you retired from bondage modeling? What would it take to get you to come out of retirement?
Well, since I retired from commercial shoots, I have to do that thing called 'regular' which sure gets in the way of life. That said, I have a great job with wonderful people and get lots of time off to travel, though I never really get a great tan anywhere!
Unless the world wishes to see middle aged models bound and gagged, I don't think I will be called anytime soon That said, for friends or the cool fun people, I sometimes dabble in private escape/bondage challenges. I do still love creative and restrictive predicaments. That or just bribe me with chocolate like Uncle M and we are good.

How has the bondage industry changed since the time when you left the industy?
The industry has changed as we have seen over time. Just look back to the early days of Klaw and Bettie Page to the images we have today. That says it all. I would consider myself in that era more of the classic D.I.D. which I really enjoyed. I love the style of sexy not overtly sexual. In a perfect world, I would combine today's heavy strict rigging with early black and white outfits and photography. Now that would be a brilliant to me.
What was the best and worst part about being a bondage model?
Best thing is the people and the travel. The more you do, the more you grow as a model and person in dealing with new and interesting situations. I always like improving in life in whatever I set forth to do.
Nothing really comes to mind as the worst as I have been fortunate that has worked out for me in all my dealings. If I got picky, perhaps I would say losing and unable to free myself from escape challenges. I guess I am more competitive than I thought for a Canadian, eh. While laid back and easy going when asked for a challenge even for fun, I do like to win. That is why I still do lots of yoga

Why do you think men and women enjoy bondage? What do you think it is about a tied up girl that appeals to people of both sexes?
I am not sure about why so many are drawn to bondage and restraint. I think you might have ask someone wearing a white lab coat and wire rimmed glasses about that one The one thing I know is that it is a popular, er, hobby, er, interest, or lifestyle to so many. The one thing I have always strived for is to present it in a way that my vanilla friends would say "that's so cool" rather than "yikes".
Did you enjoy being tied up or was it “just a job” for you? What are/were your favorites: Method of being restrained? Gag? Bondage position or tie? Wardrobe to wear for a shoot? Role to play?
Hmmm a lot of questions in here for me to chop up. I do enjoy a good rigging. I love those who are creative and pay attention to detail for any shots I do. I feel for it to look authentic, it works best to be authentic. There is nothing worse than trying to hold on ropes during video . At shoots, I always use the phrase "don't be afraid to give me something to work with in a tight tie" as first. I can take it, but, more importantly, it makes for a better shot.
My favorite restraint is rope without a doubt. To me, it adds the ability to show the personality of the tie and even the rigger to an extent. Add in a few hundred yards of rope and a devious mind as well as a great outfit and backdrop and we will have a winner! The gag depends on the outfit. A super sweet shoot or retro look and a soft scarf gag works wonders. If you wish a heavy latex look or harsher image, then pull me out a heavy harness ball gag and it works. That is why you need to bring as many gags as you do outfits!
I love a wide variety of outfits and looks. From heavy latex to simple lingerie. You would cringe if you saw how much closet space I have just for clothing and shoes. I like to be able to offer the full meal deal on looks for those wishing to shoot me. If you had to pin me down for an answer, I would say the classic corset, hose, heels and gloves is my first choice. As I age, I am rather more fond of the retro look, classic Klaw era that I appreciate so much now.
Favorite tie has to be roped chair or post.

There are so many options with those that can really be cinched in tight. If one wishes to hogtie me, I am able to still bend into almost a "U" shape, so that works while I still keep up my yoga
. The best ties for those who really love fetish are the ones where you clearly cannot budge or clearly cannot reach any knots or wriggle free for that realistic shot.
The role to play again works with the scene that is set up by the rigger. If you wish the cute, bat your eyes and roll about sweetly in softness, that is so easy.

If one wishes me to play a fighting wildcat in darker look, I am easily adaptable to that as well. Being Canadian, we can be feisty as well as polite, eh! Every once in a while I am asked to play or look the dominant which is a nice change, though 95% of the time I am asked to play the submissive. I guess those surveys are correct that show dark hair dominants over light hair submissive is by far the most popular scene. I do so like that image as well as my fave.

How did it feel knowing you were an object of people’s fantasies?
I never really think about being a fantasy of others or what they see or do with my materials. I have had some really nice letters and notes since I first started. I think to myself that I hoped to have only presented myself in images and videos that I am still proud of today for what I consider my values. How others perceive those images and what they do with them is nothing that I can or wish to control. The response has been vastly positive and only once did I have a bad experience of being Cassidy Bryce.
I have been so flattered to have such talented and wonderful artists wish to use me in their images. When Yahoo groups was all the rage, I had one of the largest groups in the fetish side there which I added a lot of material to. While there, I was asked to come to Deviant Art to share some of those shots. Once I popped a couple images up here, I had multiple requests from so many if they could use me on their page. It is such an honor to be on those pages in such a variety of forms and styles. Each time I am truly blown away by the talents of so many. I am always thanked for being on their page but it is I who am so thankful to all those amazing people for putting me there. Once I have a request, I check out the artist and if their style goes along with my process, I am almost always receptive to those requests. The only real rules I follow is no nudity or out and out violence and blood. I might faint If you follow those, go for it I say and I love to allow those artists to see fit what they wish to pop up. I always find that to be most interesting. Once in a while I am asked if I have a preference, which I may pop in an idea if I am feeling rather witty. Otherwise, I let the artists work their magic! If I am really inspired, I may suggest an image that I feel may really work well.
How did you come to be featured in the art of so many talented dA artists?
Well, I have lots of time when I am not on Deviant Art and sadly time prevents me from being about as much as I wish I could. I get requests from so many nice people about sharing more of this set or such. I try to do the best I can but do not wish to take up a massive page here when there are so many amazing true artists to view. I sometimes start to bore even myself when there are so many truly beautiful models that should be seen over myself.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not on DeviantArt?
So in my spare time, I run a dental office with very long hours. That takes a big chunk of my life up. For fun, I like yoga, golfing and I LOVE to travel. Take me anyplace warm and sunny and life is good. My crush in life is Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. I find him to be such a beautiful person inside and out. Looks great but more importantly his charity and humble attitude just melts me. I also love chocolate and think someone should develop a chocolate gag which I would heavily invest in! I am a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and, being Canadian, I do love hockey as it is a part of us in the frigid north. Slap on any chick show that has a happy ending or take me shoe shopping and I am also a happy camper.
What else do you want your fans to know about you?
To those that you call fans I would just want to say thank you. The kindness and positive comments throughout my time in front of a camera has been truly touching. Having the requests for me to appear at numerous sites has truly enriched my life by providing me with such rewarding experiences. Those experiences would never have been possible without people wishing to see that. I appreciate those who are fans on so many levels. I am grateful to those models who have worked with me, those photographers shooting with me and those in charge who have wished to have me on their sites. I bow to all of you!
Christmas is coming (as I write this) so, lastly, my best wishes to all those over the holiday season beyond!
Hugs, Cass (with and extra hug to Rob for his interest and effort which is so kind!)

I'm glad Cassidy proved to be the classy person I know she is today even early on
Thanks for the nice words about the interview!
All the best to you scorpionlover!
I also liked being able to interview a model from the golden age of internet bondage modeling. She worked with some amazing people and I actually got to interview one of them, Jewell Marceau, who is STILL modeling successfully today!
I'm really happy that so many people, like you, enjoyed this one with Cassidy!!!
Happy New Year, Ola
my tastes are a bit rougher, but I have to admit that the ever present nudity and sex of BDSM works of today sometimes, somehow, detract from the bondage aspect.
I confess here and now that I, for one, would welcome a bondage website featuring...ahem..."mature" models (I can't say "middle-aged" because some might be even older, which would be just fine, IMHO). The less-than-well-toned bodies, the crows' feet at the eyes, etc. etc., would all add layers of meaning, contribute to new storylines and fantasies, for both male-on-woman and woman-on-woman interactions (for example, grown-daughter-on-older-mother, etc.etc.). I'd imagine that, for me, over-use of makeup for such models would seriously detract from the aesthetic I have in mind. In any case, you'd be wonderful for some of that stuff, Cassidy (I used to think Lorelei would be the cat's meow for such work, but I think you'd be my number one star).
So, all told, thanks once again, Rob, for providing us with a fantastic interview with a delightful subject. And many, many thanks, Cassidy, for sharing so much with all of us.
Misuse of an interview to commit evil deeds! lol Too funny!!!
I'm glad you enjoyed it!!!
Top Tip of the Hat to you Rob Ranger , for an excellent interview to top off an Impressive 2017
