1) Describe your very first times tied up both off camera and on camera?
The first time I was tied up was on a shoot with Simone Devone. She tied me under a Christmas tree as a present. I got so excited. I couldn't believe I could feel so excited!
The first time I was tied up in my personal life was when my boyfriend tied my arms overhead and my feet wide open to the bed posts. He gagged me with my stockings and we had the best sex of ever!
2) The Rope_Dreams Yahoo Group recently recognized you with a "Lifetime Achievement Award as a Model." What is it about your work that you think makes you so popular with your fans?
I think it might be the fact that I really and truly love every aspect of BDSM, and hopefully it shows!
3) Do you enjoy the pain elements that factor into some aspects of bondage modeling? And, if so, why?
Yes, because it adds that much more intensity. For me, it can't just be anyone allowing that privilege. I'm super picky
4) Is your family supportive of your bondage modeling?
Unfortunately, most of my family has passed away. My sisters are still living, and they don't mind one bit.
5) You have continued modeling for a long time when other models have much shorter careers. How have you managed to seem so unchanged for all this time? What has bondage modeling taught you about yourself and other people?
Again, I really love what I do. It's genuine! I can't imagine how I would feel when I'd be forced into retirement. I'm truly terrified I would have a major identity crisis. Modeling has taught me that I have more patience than I realize, and that I'm pretty limber, too lol
Also, that this isn't just a passing phase. I truly am a bondage model through and through.
Unfortunately, it also taught me the ugly side of people. I sometimes think people like me for me, but when you’re shooting with them sometimes they want to take advantage of your good nature by demanding things.
6) Are you very selective about with whom you work? How do you decide who to model for or with?
I'm very selective! I know a lot of people, but it's a small community and word travels fast. Usually, most models are fabulous!!!
7) With the 50 Shades of Grey movie bringing bondage into the mainstream media, some people have commented that BDSM represents an abusive relationship? How would you respond to people who make statements like that?
Obviously, I don't feel that way. That movie was pretty funny to me since it didn't delve too deeply into what we are really about, so it portrayed D/s in a bad light. I have always been a D/s girl, and, for me, it's not abusive at all. It's consensual, and exciting! I can't survive in a vanilla relationship. I need substance, and a lot of it
8) Have you, at any time in your modeling career, ever felt exploited?
Yes!!! I actually have, mostly when I was shooting for big men's magazines.
9) What do you think are the best and worst aspects of the adult industry?
Best: You get to do what you love, meet people with common interests, find the most amazing gear, never feel ashamed but accepted, you build tight bonds with others
Worst: Sometimes it's not appropriate to tell people who you are or what you do. You sometimes feel like you're being judged. People don't always understand. Everyone knows who you are when you walk outside. Your life is an open book. Some people you work with expect you to endure more than you can.
10) How does the bondage modeling industry compare now to how it was when you began your career as a bondage model?
Now it seems like everyone models, if they are into it or not. There are more models now than ever before. It's not a novelty anymore, and that makes me sad. When I started, it was the real deal. We were all so passionate about it.
11) Out of all the bondage shoots you've done, which was the most memorable? And which was the most fun? And tell us why they were most memorable and fun.
That's hard because, honestly, most of my shoots are fun and memorable. I can't tell you what movie I watched a week ago, but I remember nearly all of my shoots. Every single one!
The most memorable recently was the one I shot with Damon Pierce. I was wearing a pink latex girdle, knee high ballet boots, and a hood. It's always funny when you're directing your own shoots for your website. Usually, I walk in and like to be told what to do, but now roles have reversed. I have to tell them what I want. So, there we are. I have a hood on, an inflatable gag in my mouth and I'm trying to tell Damon to pull my legs back more so they are arched over my back like a scorpion. It wasn't working because he couldn't understand me, so we end up laughing instead. It's really hilarious!
12) Is there a shoot you have not done yet that is on your "bucket list"? If yes, please tell us what it is.
Everything I want to do, I do
13) What is the kinkiest thing you've ever done off-camera?
That depends on what you think is kinky? Once, I used a strap-on and fucked a guy in it, in full rubber. That's pretty kinky for me since I'm always the receiver. It was an experience
14) What advice do you have for models who hope to enjoy the longevity you've enjoyed in the bondage modeling industry?
Just keep doing what you love, as long as you're still passionate about it
15) What else does Ashley Renee want her fans to know about her and her work?
I pretty much said it all. I'm real and genuine. I love what I do. It's a lifestyle, and not just a job. I just got lucky. Please visit me at www.ashleyrenee.com and my shopping cart site www.ashleysplayroom.com I still provide new content every week, and will continue till I can't move anymore!
