This story began when I happened to be telling a "bedtime" story to a very good friend of mine, upon whose life many of the elements in the story are based. I was just rattling the story off right off the top of my head, but then it got stuck in there. I decided that it needed finishing, so here it is.

"England!" Came the desperate cry of a certain American, covering his eyes and shouting as he, Italy and England were engulfed in a bright light. "England!" He shouted once more.
