1) Describe your very first times tied up both off camera and on camera?
I was first tied up when I was about 10 years old by a neighborhood boy. We would play games like cops and robbers and cowboys and Indians. It was always fun and exciting as a kid to play these games, but at the time I didn’t realize that it was sexual for me until I grew older.
The first time I shot bondage work was with Mike, Vesta, and Genesis for BondageDivas in 2001 when they were based in Connecticut.
2) What is it about your work that you think makes you so popular with your fans?
I think I may be popular with my fans because I have a very "girl next door" look. I often hear that I remind someone of a girl they grew up with or work with now. I also get a lot of email from people asking me not to alter my looks with cosmetic enhancements. I think that might spoil the "real girl" persona for people.
3) Do you enjoy the pain elements that factor into some aspects of bondage modeling? And, if so, why?
I do not.
4) Is your family supportive of your bondage modeling?
Yes, they've always been supportive of me. As I've gotten older, I only shoot with people I know and have worked with before. That helps ease their minds about what I'm doing.
5) What has bondage modeling taught you about yourself and other people?
For me, bondage modeling opened my eyes about all the different worlds and types of fetishes. One person enjoys metal, while another only rope. People like different gags. When I first started modeling, I only believed that there was one type work - bondage. Now I know that a bondage photographer can mean a lot of different things.
6) Are you very selective about with whom you work? How do you decide who to model for or with?
Yes, I'm very selective with whom I work. I suffered a severe neck injury from a photographer that was careless. Moving forward, I realized that I can only do selective work with people that value me and my body.
7) With the 50 Shades of Grey movie bringing bondage into the mainstream media, some people have commented that BDSM represents an abusive relationship? How would you respond to people who make statements like that?
I think 50 Shades was like most things in Hollywood, over the top. The main female character wasn't into the lifestyle, so it didn't portray a healthy BDSM relationship. I believe a Sub has her own power in a relationship. It's too bad the public wasn't able to see the benefits of the bondage lifestyle.
8) Have you, at any time in your modeling career, ever felt exploited?
Yes. I've seen my photos sold to online and newspaper escort ads. It bothers me when I am told that my photos are used for one thing, and then used for another.
9) What do you think are the best and worst aspects of the adult industry?
I really love the community of the adult industry. In the beginning I never could've imagined that I would have made so many dear friends. I plan to stay in touch with them even after I retire.
I think the worst things are the feuds and drama that happen between the models and photographers. I've always been a big advocate of helping each other. It really bothers me when models are cold and unhelpful to new models.
10) How does the bondage modeling industry compare now to how it was when you began your career as a bondage model?
When I first began modeling, there was very little/no video for most shoots. All photos. There were also a lot less producers because there weren't' sites like Clip4Sale. I sometimes miss the old days of shooting a lot of photos, but everything changes.
11) Out of all the bondage shoots you've done, which was the most memorable? And which was the most fun? And please tell us why they were most memorable and fun.
I would have to say shooting in Sweden and in Iceland were my favorite shoots because of the exotic locations. I always feel like I have the best life when I am getting paid for doing something I love in an area of the world I probably would've never traveled to before.
12) Is there a shoot you have not done yet that is on your "bucket list"? If yes, please tell us what it is.
I have always wanted to do more outdoor suspension bondage.
13) What is the kinkiest thing you've ever done off-camera?
Wow, hard question. I really have no idea. lol
14) What advice do you have for models who hope to enjoy the longevity you've enjoyed in the bondage modeling industry?
Stay true to your limits and be reliable. I'm glad I never did anything I am ashamed of on film, which leads to no regrets.
15) What else do you want your fans to know about you and your work?
I want them to know that I really enjoy what I do, but it really takes a lot of physical effort. I put a lot into each and every shoot. Most times I pay for my own travel expenses. I hope that my fans realize all the effort that goes into each and every shoot from the producer and models.
For anyone not already familiar with it, I strongly recommend her work at HeroineUniverse.com, especially the clips in which Kobe is capturing/playing with Francesca Lé. Good stuff!
Thanks for another great interview, Rob!
Thanks!
I can tell you that the people I know from the industry are among the nicest and genuinely caring people I know. My co-workers always ask me about the people I know and I tell them that "they are a nice bunch of people with a different than normal job." Very few models and producers make a living just doing bondage-related work. I know salespeople, nurses, military folks, etc. in the industry. And lots of college girls too. I think though that a teacher would have to be very, very discrete in this day and age.
